Welcome to Sporadic Meanderings! This blog will follow two intrepid Alaskans, Kennison Martin and Jason Wilkins, as they attempt to hike the New England portion of the Appalachian Trail, one bit at a time.
The idea was born from a love of the outdoors, a yearning to experience a great piece of American history, and the lack of funds and time needed to hike the entirety of the AT in one go.
Our goal this summer is to section-hike all of the AT in Connecticut. Some bits will be day-hikes, and some will be over-night trips. Next summer, we will tackle Massachusetts, and from there...well, we'll cross that rickety rope-and-plank bridge when we come to it.
